More Hinilawod characters here...
I do love drawing the epic Paubari. The process of sketching him, from references of Kuya Rico (click Datu Paubari to view Kuya Rico's page) in character was instinctual to say the least. Drawing all these muscular men had me watching UFC, just to get the an idea of an athlete in battle mode. Thank you Hinilawod. Hahaha!
Oh... and Labaw Donggon, does resemble him right? I hope so. It would be tragic for the son to bear no resemblance to his father.
Now, Alunsina, was a challenge to create. I'll come up with a separate page for Hinilawod concept art later on, this way I can chronicle the characters from concept sketch to final product. No matter how Alunsina was drawn and redrawn, she ended up with a face too similar to my own!
My female characters tend to resemble me... this is some habit that need breaking. Designs for the other goddesses should show improvement. You can view initial sketches of the Hinilawod Princesses here. Keep posted for updates.
